If you have checked out a book that is requested by Grinnell
College faculty or students, it can be recalled from you.
You will be notified by email, mail or telephone. You
will need to return the item immediately.
Obtaining a library card
Before checking out library materials for the first time
you should acquire a Stewart Library card. A Grinnell
College Libraries barcode will be placed on your Stewart
Library card by a staff person at the Circulation Desk
in Burling Library. Please bring your
Stewart Library Card to the Circulation Desk so that
all pertinent information such as addresses and phone
numbers can be entered into the circulation system. You
will be asked to present an additional piece of identification
showing your current address and phone number.

regular library hours
if you have any questions

from several options to identify the databases that might
be useful to you on our Databases and Indexes
Web page. These databases are available to Grinnell residents

most useful to your needs. All of our resources are also
available through the libraries' catalog at http://cat.lib.grinnell.edu/search/X.

while they are in the library buildings.
