Get the full text of an article

Where are you in the process right now?

I need to:

Getting from a database results list to the full text of an article

Sometimes the best database for your subject will not provide the full text of an article that you need. But don’t give up—you may be able to access that article using a different database or a journal that we own in print. At the very least, you will be able to request it using Interlibrary Loan.

Here’s what to do to find out how to get the full text of an article you need:

Look for a link or icon labeled “HTML full text” or “PDF full text.”

Here's what it looks like in the database Academic Search Premier:

If there is no immediate link to full text, look for the link labeled "Search for full text."

Click here to see what it looks like in the database Arts & Humanities Search.

This link will search for the article in other databases and the print collection.

If the library has the article, you will either be linked to directly to it or given a list of databases to look for it in.

Click here to see what this screen looks like and where to find the ILL request link.

If the library does not have the article, clicking on the Request via ILL link from this screen will take you to an ILL form that has been pre-filled out with information from this citation. You simply need to enter your username and password in order to request it.
