Open Mic Poetry Reading at Burling Library, Wednesday, September 26 at 7:45 p.m.
Grinnell College Libraries are collaborating with the staff of the Grinnell Review to hold more poetry readings on campus. We're holding our first open reading on Wednesday, September 26 at 7:45 p.m. Bring a poem to read by your favorite poet or one that you've written yourself (maybe you are your favorite poet!). Come to the first floor of Burling, Northwest Windows (current periodicals) and plan to enjoy an hour or so of poetry. Read, listen, bring your friends!
Safari e-reserve problem resolved
The e-reserve authentication problem with the Safari browser has been resolved by our library system vendor and a fix has been loaded onto our system. You should no longer have any problem authenticating for e-reserves when using a Mac and the Safari browser. Please contact Gail Bonath (bonath@grinnell.edu) if you have any questions.
The Libraries give away three $25.00 gift cards as part of August 31 Open House
The Libraries held a successful open house on Friday August 31 with approximately 200 attendees enjoying treats (e.g., punchbowl cake), tours, and audio and video selections from our collections. We drew the names of three students to be lucky winners of our door prize: a $25.00 gift card from the college bookstore. In order to qualify for the drawing, attendees had to answer one of the following questions correctly--see how many questions you can answer:
- How many books may a student have checked out at one time? 75
- Students may check out CDs and videos/DVDs from the Listening Room for what length of time? One week
- How many electronic and print research tools are included on Grinnell College Libraries' Databases and Index page? 361 (as of 8/28/07)
